Rhythmic Gymnastics

The sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics is an Olympic sport for girls and women of all ages. It differs from all other forms of gymnastics by the use of hand held apparatus like rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. It was first featured in an Olympic competition in 1984. Since than it has continue to develop and today it is described as one of the most beautiful and the most harmonious sport for girls.

Rhythmic Gymnastics blends classical dance and acrobatics to crate a unique sport that borders between sport and art. Every routine is accompanied by music and aims to transmit a different emotion to the audience with every routine.

Rhythmic gymnastics group competition was added to the Olympic program in 1996. The groups formed of 5 gymnasts at Olympic level are the most exciting to watch. The groups perform a routine 2:30 min long in which 5 gymnasts are required to perform in perfect harmony with the music and each other.

The United States has a very strong rhythmic gymnastics program, national team athletes compete around the world in Grand Prix competitions, world cups, world championships and Olympic Games.

Our gym is home to two National Team members who competed and brought gold medals from international competitions in Luxembourg, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia and the Czech Republic.
