Nely’s School Policies

At Nely’s School, our goal is to provide every athlete with a safe, structured, and inspiring training environment. These policies are designed to support consistency, fairness, and the best possible experience for both gymnasts and families. By following them, we ensure that our athletes can thrive, our coaches can focus on teaching, and our community can grow stronger together.

Attendance

Parents must notify coaches in advance if their child will miss a class, either by email, text, or phone. Missed classes are non-refundable. Make-ups may be arranged only if scheduled at least two days in advance and approved by the coach. All classes begin promptly, and athletes are expected to arrive a few minutes early to prepare and warm up. Frequent tardiness disrupts training and may affect the athlete’s overall progress.

Attire & Gym Etiquette

Recreational and beginner students are required to wear a black leotard and black shorts, while team athletes must wear the black training tank top and shorts. Hair should be secured neatly in a bun or ponytail for every class. No shoes are allowed inside the training area. Only water is permitted inside the gym, and athletes should bring a labeled water bottle. A designated drop-off and pick-up zone is provided for parents, who may not enter the training floor during class.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition is billed monthly during the September–June competitive season and weekly for summer camp programs in July and August. Payment is due on the 28th of each month, with September tuition due by August 28th. Tuition is charged as a flat rate by level and is not prorated for vacations, holidays, or months of varying length. A $25 late fee will be applied if payment is more than two days late.

New students must pay their first month in full at the time of registration. An annual registration fee of $60 is required for all students, which includes a complimentary Nely’s School tank top. Discounts are limited to siblings only; no other adjustments are available.

Withdrawals require thirty days’ written notice. For example, to withdraw for the month of February, parents must notify the school by December 28th. Tuition is non-refundable without proper notice. In the event of inclement weather or unexpected closures, classes will move online through Zoom.

All camps—including summer, winter, and holiday sessions—are non-refundable under any circumstances. Make-ups are offered only in the case of illness and only when the schedule allows. Private classes, choreography sessions, and competition fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. These fees are non-refundable, though make-ups for private lessons may be arranged in cases of illness.

Health & Safety

For the health of all athletes and staff, children should not attend class if they are sick. The gym is regularly cleaned and sanitized to maintain a safe training environment. Parents are encouraged to use the drop-off and pick-up system to reduce congestion inside the facility. In the case of health advisories, Nely’s School will follow all state and local guidelines.

Code of Conduct

Athletes are expected to show respect to coaches, teammates, judges, and facilities at all times. They should arrive prepared, focused, and ready to train, maintaining a positive attitude even during challenges. Cell phones are not permitted on the training floor.

Parents are also asked to uphold our positive training environment. Encouragement is welcome, but coaching from the sidelines is not permitted. Concerns should be addressed respectfully and privately with staff outside of class times. Families are expected to support all athletes, celebrate progress as well as results, and follow all school policies regarding attendance, tuition, and communication.

Competition & Travel Policies

Competition schedules are determined by the coaches and must be followed by all athletes. Once paid, competition-related fees—including entry fees, travel expenses, and coaches’ fees—are non-refundable. Athletes must wear the designated team uniform, warm-ups, and hairstyle during all competitions. Attendance at team practices leading up to a competition is mandatory. For away meets, travel arrangements must be confirmed with the school in advance.

Communication Policy

The best way to contact the school or coaches is by email or text message. Coaches are not available for discussions during active class times. Non-urgent questions will be answered within 24 to 48 hours. Urgent matters should be communicated by phone. Team updates, schedules, and announcements will be shared through email and parent group messages.

Conclusion

At Nely’s School, we believe that clear expectations allow our athletes to focus fully on their training and growth. By following these policies, families help us create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where every gymnast can reach their potential. We thank you for your partnership and commitment, and we look forward to another successful year together.
